UMRAH dan Fukuoka University Gelar Webinar Internasional

TANJUNGPINANG – Raja Ali Haji Maritime University (UMRAH) Tanjungpinang and Fukuoka University Japan with support from the Institute of Marine Engineering Science and Technology (IMarEST) Asia Pacific held an International Webinar. The event was conducted online and offline with limited people in the Keris Meeting Room, 2nd Floor of the UMRAH Rectorate Building in Dompak. Thursday (26/6).

The two-hour webinar discussed the exchange of information related to empowering academic excellence and synergies between universities in the Asia Pacific region.

Rector of UMRAH, Prof. Dr. Agung Dhamar Syakti, S.Pi, DEA opened this international webinar online from Soekarno Hatta International Airport while waiting in the waiting room to depart for Tanjungpinang.

In his remarks, the Chancellor of UMRAH expressed his gratitude to Fukuoka University for taking the time to conduct webinars with UMRAH and various other universities in Indonesia.

Not to forget, Rector also expressed his appreciation to UMRAH for initiating and communicating with Fukuoka University Japan through Prof. Kenji Mishima and BPPT Representative Dr. Salim Mustofa and representatives of IMarEST, Andrew Wong and other domestic universities and institutions.

Present as a resource person in the webinar, Mr. Andrew Wong as Regional Manager Asia Pacific at IMarEST, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Salim Mustafa as the Center of Science and Technology of Advanced Materials (PSTBM) BATAN, and Prof. Kenji Mishima as Head of Composite Materials Center of Fukuoka University Japan.

Domestic and foreign universities and institutions that attended the webinar were members of the PTKIN FST Dean Forum, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh November (ITS) Surabaya, UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, UIN Palembang, UIN Banten, UIN Jambi, UIN Semarang UIN Bandung, UIN Yogyakarta, UIN Makassar, UIN Padang, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Institute of Marine Engineering Science and Technology (IMarEST), Curtin University and the National Nuclear Energy Agency (BATAN).

In this Webinar, Assoc Prof. Dr. Salim Mustafa offered an opportunity of research collaboration for UMRAH for the maritime fields at PUSPITEK Serpong. This offer was then welcomed by UMRAH.

The outcome of this webinar was then followed up by the formation of a cross-disciplinary Asia Pacific cooperation communication group for the development of future collaborations.

One activity with UMRAH and Fukuoka University that has been running is sending visiting professors, visiting lectures and student mobility from UMRAH lecturer representatives to Fukuoka University for 1 year from March 31, 2021 to March 31, 2022 and followed by other programs.

Rector of UMRAH hopes that this program will increase the strength and position of each institution at the regional, national and global levels.**
