BINTAN – Raja Ali Haji Maritime University (UMRAH) Tanjungpinang and PT. Bintan Inti Industrial Estate (BIIE) Establishes Cooperation. The cooperation agreement was marked by the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) by the Rector of UMRAH Prof. Dr. Agung Dhamar Syakti, S.Pi, DEA and General Manager of PT. BIIE Ir. Aditya Laksamana.

The MoU signing ceremony take place on Wednesday (25/8) at Wisma Bintan Industrial Estate, Seri Kuala Lobam, Bintan Regency.

The collaboration within the two parties such as the implementation of the Tri dharma of Higher Education and the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka Program(MBKM) or in other words; Freedom to Learn (Merdeka Belajar)Independent Campus (Kampus Merdeka) .

Includes Education Development, Research and Community Service, Laboratory Development, Provision of Experts in technical Guidance activities, Workshops or Seminars and other fields that relevant to UMRAH as a Higher Education Institution.

Ary Satia Dharma, Head of the UMRAH Academic Student Affairs and Cooperation Bureau, explained further about the MoU.

“In addition to cooperation within the scope of the Three Elements of Higher Education, we also focus on the success of the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program which has been echoed by Minister Nadiem Makarim,” said Ary Satia Dharma to UMRAH Public Relations.

“So this MBKM program includes certified Apprenticeship Programs, Independent Studies/independent projects, Entrepreneurial Activities, Research/Research, Humanitarian Projects and Village Building Programs/Thematic Real Work Lectures”

This Programs will enable the recognition of Students Credits for these activities with the maximum threshold of 20 credit points.

So later on, UMRAH students and lecturers can carry out the Tridharma and MBKM programs at PT. BIIE, of course, adapted to the conditions of PT. BIIE himself said Ary.

Prior to the signing of the MoU, Ir. Aditya Laksamana as General Manager of PT. BIIE said that he and his team were very supportive of the initiation of the collaboration between UMRAH and PT. BIIE.

On behalf of PT. BIIE himself also said that it opened up opportunities for conducting research activities for UMRAH students at PT. BIIE.

“We want Indonesian children or in Riau Islands to be able to progress, we try to open research or research opportunities. If there are UMRAH students who want to use this place (PT. BIIE) for research and so on, please do.” said Ir. Aditya is in the meeting.

“Later we will arrange how, then what is needed in the research,” he added.

Not to forget, he also thanked the Rector of UMRAH for the initiation of the collaboration, and hoped that it would continue.

Responding to the statement of GM PT. BIIE, Rector of UMRAH Prof. Dr. Agung Dhamar Syakti, S.Pi, DEA welcomes and is grateful for the opportunity given.

Prof. Agung also said that UMRAH through the existing faculties would immediately follow up on the signed MoU.

“Of course, we, through the existing faculties, will follow up on this MoU and are ready to implement it according to their respective scientific fields in order to produce superior human resources to be more ready to use in the future”. Said the Professor of Bioremediation.

“UMRAH is ready to become a Cooperation partner for PT. BIIE and support the development of PT. BIIE so that it can provide more benefits for the people in Bintan, Riau Islands and our Republic,” he added.

He also expressed hope that UMRAH can play a role in accelerating the programs of PT. BIIE is like in the maritime sector, to conduct lecturer research, student internships, and social programs from PT. BIIE is like a CSR program for the community.
